If you’re looking for a free online chess game, GameHands.Net/Chess is a great option. You can play against users from across the globe or play offline against the computer. You can customize the chess board and chess pieces to your likeing.
Chess is known around the world by many different names e.g.: xadrez,
The website uses the Google Translate drop down box to allow chess players to switch to the language of their choice e.g.: English, French, German, Russian, Urdu, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian plus many more. Our online chess game allows users from almost anywhere in the world to simply go to our website, you don't have to sign up if you don't want to, pick an online name and be connected online to play chess in just a few seconds. Invite your friends to our website and as soon as they load our website their online name should pop up in the 'Online players list'. Our online chess game can be played on mobiles, tablets, PCs, Macs or any other internet connected device with access to a web browser. A large screen is recommended for the best experience.
To move a chess pieces it is one click (mouse button press and release) to pick up a chess piece and a second mouse click to place it to the new position. For mobile devices, it is the same except replace the previous instruction with tap instead of a click.
To play chess against the computer offline, change one of the 'Player:' drop-down box, for Black or White, to 'Computer' and the computer will begin to play and make its move during its turn. Note for local vs. Computer games you don't have to have the chess board in the start position. You can position the board as you want while both 'Player:' drop-down boxes are set to 'Human and then change one of them to 'Computer' and thus the AI will continue playing from that position. You can also change both Black's and White's 'Player:' drop-down boxes to 'Computer' to get the AI to play against itself.
The new ‘IS CONTINU GAME’ feature enables you to start an online chess game with another online opponent using the current state of your chess board as the starting point. This means that a player can set up the board as they want and then challenge an online player to a game starting from that point. The player receiving the request can decline the match if they think the starting position chosen is unfair. If they choose to accept the game request, the chess match continues from that point on like a typical chess game. This feature can be used with the save move list feature to continue a game that you were not able to finish.
