Web chess voice control info
The web chess app is now fully controllable by voice commands. This section will provide you with all the instructions you will need to operate the web chess app entirely by voice. You will be able change colour settings, chess set images and of course play a chess game using only your voice. The voice control feature gets better the more you use it, so we advise you have some patient during initial use. We also recommend you use a good microphone or a gaming headset. Voice control is only supported on the Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge browsers. English is currently the only language supported for voice control.
Below is a screenshot of the web chess app.

To change the online player name using voice control, you must be disconnected, you will need to say 'name' followed by the new name. Once you have used voice control to enter a new player name, you can trigger the 'Play Online' button to re-connect. Say 'play online' to trigger the button by voice control. For every voice command you speak in to your microphone, you will see a black box, like the one shown above, with the text of what the voice recogniser thinks you said. The voice recogniser is better at understanding some words, so this is a factor when selecting the words for the voice control feature. |

You will need to say both numbers in one go. For example you could say '62 comma 54'. To move forward the pawn on square ID 62. This will bringup the game request dialog. Say the command 'switch' to toggle between playing as black or white. To trigger the Request Game button say 'request'. When you are connected online you may get challenged by another player. So a dialog box like the one above may appear at any time. Note: if you are already in an online chess game all game requests, to you, will be automatically rejected. To accept the game request you received, say 'accept'. To reject the game request you received, say 'reject'. |
